There was a time when just plain water was not palatable to me. I had gotten into the habit of adding flavored water enhancers to my Brita filtered water. I was simply satisfied in the knowledge that I was using filtered water and keeping myself properly hydrated. Quick and easy, I'd just give a squeeze and go!
As of late, I am more committed to a journey of self care as I suspect you all are! So after researching some of the ingredients found in the water enhancers I felt the artificial and chemical concoctions were too questionable and risky to continue their use!
I made it my mission to find healthier ways to hydrate, make it flavorful and most importantly less boring than just plain water. My favorite daily sip at the moment contains ginger, lemon and turmeric. I love the anti-inflammatory properties and and knowing that I am boosting my immune system. Drink it cold or in a hot tea. I simply slice up the ginger root and lemon and place it in my infuser bottle. I sprinkle powder turmeric, let it all steep for at least 30 minuets and drink throughout the day.
There are so many other variations of this drink, typically used for a detox when you add black pepper or apple cider vinegar. I plan to experiment with other combinations in the future. I will keep you posted! Drink to your health!
