I advertised the Alfa motor on the alfabb.com message board and finally (after lowering the price several times) I sold it for $1500. So I am now stripping the motor out of the car. Finally getting my hands dirty!! I am trying to be organized and label every nut and screw that comes off the car.

So I got my title and emailed with Georgia clean airforce to make the car emissions exemption. All cars need an emissions test, but the exemption 'bumps' the car down to an easier test. Well after paying the TAVT, finally my title came through. One thing down. The next step is getting plates. To do that I first need to get an emissions test exemption (non-conforming status).  Luckily this can be done electronically: http://www.cleanairforce.com/forms/form-non-conforming-status-application.php I had Joe down at Dunwoody Automotive examine the car and write me a letter explaining the car was never built to pass emissions.

Some good news. I got a letter from GA dept of revenue asking for the $770 TAVT registration fee. So onto the next step. Its only been 3 months!!

The last time I blogged the registration people had asked me for a letter proving fair market value so they could calculate TAVT (title ad valorem tax). My insurance people sent me the letter this week so I got that sent out yesterday. So fingers crossed (yet again)! In the meantime I am wavering between bike motor and car motor. My heart really lies with the bike motor but the car motor has so many advantages. I don't have to worry about the sump and oil starvation, gearing is less of an issue, no mounting sub frame, more torque etc...
