A funny co-incidence happened the other night.
My husband and I went to see the Reece Witherspoon movie 'The Wild'. We loved it, thought it was a terrific movie. It was about a young woman hiking the PCT to get over her personal problems and get her mind straight. It was based on the real-life of Cheryl Strayed. See this article:http://www.npr.org/2013/09/08/219754257/the-wild-story-of-cheryl-strayed.... The camping scenes really reminded us of when we camped in Alaska. We also spotted some places we had been too, for example Crater Lake.
Anyway my husband's mother lives in Turkey and her company offers treks and walks there. Her websites are www.cultureroutesinturkey.com and trekkinginturkey.com. That day she sent us an email saying she is coming over to a hiking confererence in Oregon and to walk the PCT a bit.
What a co-incidence! Until yesterday we never even knew what the PCT was.
